#10 - Proposal in Paris, The Moment That Changed Everything

This moment was months in the making. Matt spent weeks secretly planning the proposal, from coordinating with family and friends, to getting Taylor’s ring size without her knowing, to carrying the ring across the ocean without raising suspicion.

With help from his mom, our friend Ally who was getting married and her mom, and a borrowed ring sizer, Matt pulled off the perfect decoy at a bridal get together for Ally's Wedding. When Taylor’s curiosity kicked in and she tried on the sizer herself, she had no idea she was handing over the exact info needed to craft the ring she’d soon be wearing.

Three months later, we were headed to Paris. Matt kept the ring in his pocket the entire 8 hour flight, holding his breath through airport security and every step from JFK to the Eiffel Tower. His business partners and close friends, Clement and Adrien, were in on it too. The plan? To film a YouTube intro for one of their projects, and have Taylor be part of the video. She was totally on board and fell for it without a single suspicion.

So there we were, in front of the Eiffel Tower, cameras rolling, when Matt suddenly shifted from “talking about work” thanking Taylor for always supporting him and dropping down on one knee. Taylor’s exact response?

“ARE YOU F*ING KIDDING ME?!?!?!?! YESSSSSSSSSS!!!!”

It was raw, real, and 100% us. She may have been furious that she was in a tank top, shorts, and a messy bun, but the shock, the joy, and the laughter in that moment made it perfect.

This centerpiece captures that exact moment, complete with a miniature Eiffel Tower, and mini models of Taylor and I and Clement and Adrien filming. It’s a symbol of a moment that was wild, heartfelt, a little chaotic, and completely unforgettable.

What followed was two weeks of adventure across France, soaking it all in with Matt's closest friends, and starting our next chapter in a way we’ll never forget.
